Spring Lake Spring Fling: Movie in the Park

The Spring Fling was born out of the Town’s 50th Anniversary celebration. The 50th Anniversary celebration was so popular, the Town decided to start an annual event—thus, the Spring Fling was created. The Spring Fling is the largest event hosted by the Town and one that draws crowds from the entire region.   Over the years, the Spring Fling has grown and expanded.  Last year, it was a two day event.  This year, it will be a three day event and instead of merely calling it the Spring Fling, it has morphed into a festival with the traditional “Fling” remaining the bedrock of the celebration. 

The Spring Festival kicks-off Friday, May 11 with Movie Night in the Park.  At dusk, a movie will be shown on a huge screen for all ages to enjoy.  This is in partnership with Operation Ceasefire.  Just bring a chair or blanket, find a spot, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.  The movie is free and  concessions will be made available.

Spring Lake Spring Fling: Run For Education

Saturday's event will begin with a 5k run/walk for education hosted by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. All proceeds for the event will go to the Spring Lake schools. Pre-registration for the run will be Friday, May 11 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Hampton Inn in Spring Lake. Same day registration will begin at 6:30am the day of the race at Mendoza Park and end at 7:15am. The race starts at 9:00am. Advance registration is $20 for runners and $10 for walkers. Opening ceremonies will be at 10:00 am in Mendoza Park. The day's events include free carnival rides for children, live stage entertainment, food, vendors of all types, stagnant displays from Fort Bragg, Art Council's Neighborhood Art Attack! and more. Bus service will be available to transport people from Southwinds Plaza to Mendoza Park.

Fourth Friday

4th Friday is a true celebration of the arts and downtown. Folks of all ages get a taste of Fayetteville's art and entertainment while enjoying the small galleries, bookstores, bistros and shops with unique items for shoppers. It’s safe, it's fun ... and it's free! 

Exhibits, entertainment, refreshments and featured artists all combine to bring the art of Fayetteville to everyone – free of charge! Businesses in the four and a half block of historic downtown Fayetteville join the action and become artistic venues on 4th Friday, featuring the arts in all forms, for all ages.
